Perfectly situated for Lower Rio Grande birding. Overall great experience.
Each space was decorated with a special theme. Water , coffee makers and a fridge in each room. Snacks and food items were offered downstairs for a more than fair price.
Anything a weary traveler needed was provided here. Heck, they even provided things that I didn't even know I needed but did.
I almost hate to share this great place!!! But, out of guilt I will say this is absolutely the very best accomodating B&B we have ever stayed at. Not the traditional cozy sit by the fire and get catered to, but quick, and efficient for all your needs to get out the front door fast so one may go birding or enjoy their day!. Can I give 10 stars? The rooms are cozy enough to enjoy a few hours to relax in the evenings.
This was by far my favorite place to stay while traveling & birding. We originally were going to stay 2 nights but stayed 4 as we loved the place so much.
The Alamo Inn was birders oasis . It was clean, comfortable, safe & quiet . Perfect place to get rested up for long days of birding.
We guided for 2 days with MaryBeth who works there . She was knowledgeable, informative & a true expert- she made our birding experience extremely enjoyable.
The Alamo Inn is a welcoming place to stay. Keith does a great job of providing a home-sweet-home while away from home. The location of the Alamo Inn is in the central part of the Valley, located just minutes away from many top-tier birding places. I recommend the Alamo Inn for birders looking for a clean, safe, and inviting place to stay.
Keith provides you with printouts of birding areas, bird lists and anything you can possibly imagine.
The birdwatchers store was by far the best I've seen offering great items at the best prices.
Everything you need for comfort and a good night's sleep can be found at this unique family owned Historic Bed and Breakfast or Garden Apartments! Keith and his staff also provide guide service and in high season an early bird breakfast. Love being able to discuss birding and butterfly adventures with others to compare notes and gain insight on our next day's adventures! Highly Recommend.
